Posted by: Tom Pace - May 28, 2010
66 year after his B-17 was severly damaged in a daylight rain over Germany, Air Force Staff Sgt. James C. Taylor was honored Friday, May 21st, 2010 with a posthumous presentation of the POW Medal to his widow, Mrs. Mildred Taylor-McKeithen in ceremonies at the Barksdale Air Force Base 8th Air Force Museum.

"Talk of the Town" radio host, Tom Pace talked EXCLUSIVELY with Taylor's widow and Maj. Gen. Carpenter in this audio podcast posted on www.ShreveTalk.com.

Current Commander of the "Mighty 8th," Maj. Gen. Floyd Carpenter made the official presentation in a most special ceremony attended by relatives and friends of Sgt. Taylor (a waist-gunner aboard the Flying Fortress).

Following the presentation, Taylor's widow and the official delegation stood by an actual restored B-17 on display outside the 8th Air Force Museum.
